We have put together 5 DIY cosmetic gift ideas for you.
Peeling, body butter or lip balm - just make it yourself
DIY beauty products are not only a creative way of giving, you also have the advantage of knowing exactly what ingredients are included because you choose the ingredients yourself. And you probably already have some of these ready at home.
1. Coffee Coconut Scrub
Especially in the cold season, when the skin tends to be dry, a good body scrub can work wonders. Such a one is extremely easy to make yourself and offers a lot of possible variations. What you need for this is:
1 cup of ground coffee
1 cup sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar
1 tbsp coconut oil
Empty sealable jar, for example a jam jar
Now simply heat the coconut oil until it is liquid and mix it with the other ingredients to form a crumbly paste. Fill into the glass and your homemade peeling is ready!
2. Rosen Body Butter
It makes tight, itchy skin on your legs, for example, velvety soft again: body butter! You need:
100 grams of coconut oil
50 grams of cocoa butter
50 grams of almond oil
A few drops of rose petal oil
2 lockable glasses
Melt the coconut oil, cocoa butter and almond oil over a water bath, stir well, allow to cool and allow to harden again slightly in the refrigerator for about an hour. Then beat with a hand mixer, add some rose petal oil and fill into the glasses. The body butter has a shelf life of around 4 weeks.
3. Honey Almond Lip Balm
For supple lips that taste delicately of honey and almonds:
20 grams of almond oil
10 grams of cocoa butter
10 grams of beeswax
10 grams of honey
small cans to fill
Melt the oil and beeswax over a water bath, add the cocoa butter and honey and mix until smooth. Then pour into small containers and let cool.
4. Colorful Blossom Bath Bombs
A hot bath in winter is great for relaxing. You can easily make colorful bath bombs yourself with the following ingredients:
125 grams of baking powder
30 grams of starch
3 tbsp coconut oil
1 EL Honig
food coloring and dried flowers
(enough for 3 to 4 bath bombs)
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, add dried flowers. Also mix and add coconut oil, honey and food coloring. Press into round bath bombs with your hands or press into a mold (e.g. cupcake tins). If the mass is too dry, simply add some water. Let the balls dry for a few hours and then wrap them decoratively.
5. Orange Scented Hand Cream
For supple hands that exude a Mediterranean feeling:
150 grams of coconut oil
100 Gramm Vaseline
20 grams of shea butter or cocoa butter
50 ml almond oil
2 heaped tbsp cornstarch
a few drops of orange essential oil
Glass container with closure
Melt all the ingredients except the cornstarch and orange oil over a water bath, remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the starch with a hand mixer. Then add the orange oil. Mix well and leave to cool, then pour into glasses.
We wish you lots of fun mixing and giving away!
